Early Start (Ages 2-6)

At ASADC, we make sure our youngest dancers have a great time while they’re getting a solid dance foundation. Technique is presented in a fun, game-like atmosphere. Children are able to indulge their imaginations while learning to dance.

Totally 2s and Creative Movement

These classes are ½ hour each week. In these classes, our tiny dancers learn the basics of stretching, how to identify and move individual body parts for better coordination later on, formations and patterns, basic movements that become the foundation steps of ballet, jazz, and tap later on. These classes also include general concepts such as colors, shapes, numbers, letters, animals, months, etc. to reinforce general learning and help prepare them for pre-k. Each class is based on the developmental trajectory of either 2 year or 3 year olds.

Kreative Kids 4 or 5 (KK4 or KK5)

These classes are 1 hour each week and include ½ hour ballet and ½ hour tap. Ballet helps children gain coordination, grace and poise, muscle strength, alignment and posture, and team concepts. It is the foundation for all other dance forms. Most children love tap because in tap, dancer’s feet create rhythmic sounds. Tap dancing is often high energy with upbeat music. Although these classes are starting to take the form of structured, classical classes, the ballet and tap technique is still taught in a fun, game-like atmosphere to increase interest and learning. Each class is based on the developmental trajectory of either 4 or 5 year olds.

Kreative Kids 6+ (KK6+)

This class is 1.5 hour each week and includes ½ hour ballet, ½ hour tap, and ½ hour jazz. By 6 years old, children’s focus and attention span is ready for a longer study period. The motor development is now also now ready for more complex isolations and coordination required for jazz. The fun doesn’t stop just because they are getting older. KK6+ still includes lots of game-based technique.
