General Policies

General

  • ASADC will open 15 minutes prior to the first class of the day.
  • ASADC places students by age and ability. Although we do our best to keep friends together, our focus is on developing our dancers’ potential.
  • No gum, food, or beverages are allowed in the studios, however, water bottles with secure lids may be used.
  • If a student brings a cell phone into class, it must be turned off and placed in a basket by the sound system.
  • Only dancers registered for the class are allowed in the teaching room during class.
  • Parents are invited to observe on scheduled observation days during the session.
  • Lateness is disruptive and prevents students from being properly warmed-up and also from learning important skills. A student who is late may be denied entry to the class by the instructor, in which event this is considered an absence.
  • ASADC instructors have the right to verbally and physically correct a student’s body alignment and technique within the student’s physical capabilities.
  • If a student has an injury, they are encouraged to attend class and watch. Following an injury in which the student has been restricted from dancing, the student must submit a note from the student’s healthcare provider stating the dancer has permission to return to their regular physical activities. Extended periods of absence or inability to participate may result I the student not being able to perform.
  • Instructors inform ASADC’s director of any injuries that take place in their class and all further communication will be between the director and the parent(s) of the injured student.

  • If make-up classes are necessary, they will be scheduled the week following the Spring Shows.
